Good Day Corsairs and Fellow Pirates,
The Buccaneer's Ball is now behind us and seemed to be a rollicking good time for all that attended. It was wonderful to finally meet many of you for the first time in person. I saw that several Pirates had their images put to paper by Tiger Lee in all their finery. The raffle and auction sent many pirates home with new treasure and booty to drool over.Tom Tuerff and Gary Siler entertained us with their music throughout the evening and had quite a few pirates dancing. Now it's time for you to give us your opinion of how things went and how we can make it better next year. First of all was the Ball too long? Seemed to me me many left long before Ball was scheduled to be over. Is 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM too much time to spend with other? Should we make it shorter next year? How about the food ? Was it satisfying and filling ? Was the entertainment up to your expectations? Any suggestions to make that better for your pleasure? Please make any suggestions and feedback you make realistic and reasonable, we seriously want to make it a better more pleasurable experience for you. No we can't run a brothel or provide all the alcohol you need free for such a measly amount, but any thing we can add or do without to improve will be considered. Remember this is your Ball to enjoy and we want to make it the best memories we can for you. For those of you who wish to become actual members of the Corsairs or form your own ship and be recognized as a official Corsair Ship please read the Arizona Corsairs Code and Articles section of our website and contact us. THANK YOU ALL for attending and hopefully we enticed you enough to want to do it again next year. Keep coming to the website to see what event we plan for our Pirate community next and be prepared to have more fun than one should be allowed to have in one lifetime. Argggh memories be the best treasures that one can gather in life.

These kind of activities are what is been planned to take place at a Corsairs Treasure Hunt event we are in the now in the beginning stages of planning for the Arizona pirate community. The movies use to be part of the Corsair Cons we use to have, depending of pirate involvement in the events we have now may lead us to try a convention again. The ball was designed more as a celebration and getting to know each other event. Like your ideas but for a different format type event. Thanks for your feedback.
I love the ideas for skits, more dancing and more fun contests to pit crews against each other. I think we would have had time for some of that that evening. Definite Ball material. Going to try and post my Ball Pics this evening.
yes the dancing. i thought there was going to be some waltzing and/or dances of the time period, maybe to some classical music. not that i would know how,but i was intrested in seeing that.
Im already working on putting together a "playlist" for next years' ball. I'll give it to whomever is in charge of the event next time and they can either use it or not use as they see fit. I have a fairly large collection of appropriate music for such a social gathering. ;)
I love the idea of ships or single pirates doing short entertainment pieces, there are so many talented folks, and more music for dancing. That is if anyone will dance. Lazy lumps :P. It was amusing trying to get some of you up off a' your chairs though. The food was not too bad and all of the merchants were wonderful. They were friendly and had great stuff! The raffle, door prize and auction were perfectly executed, but the table could have been in a more trafficked part of the room, or with the merchants. It was a fair turn out and a good trial run, made to build upon and make bigger and better next year (or sooner).
Thank yous to all who had a hand it making it happen.
Yes, well, I'd say the vast majority of us are not as talented at dancing as you! :p ...hence our sitting on our chairs. :D I thinks I need to be attending one of them there Pirate Dance Workshops next time they have one....
Fear not Cap'n. Ye be not alone. I be in the same boat as ye. I suspect I will require much practice at this "dancin" sport...thing. ...Just give me someone to fight! Yarrr!
Hi this is Mademoiselle Irene, the Dance Mistress from Pueblo of Lost Angels, and I would love to come out again and give another dance workshop in AZ, so when my ship comes in later in the winter, I can afford it again, and someone has to video the whole thing. Perhaps before then, a local Corsair could take on the chore to resurrect the zombies [dances] that just need a little life to get going again. Try La Bataille to any march music. In the meantime, I will work on getting the music to you. Good luck, Mlle.
P.S. any period dancing is good practice, but the WMH organizers run a very conservative ship, so if you attend their ball, be prepared to be on your toes so you don't step on theirs, they are 180 degrees away from you, archetypal POTC vs HMS.
