The Arizona Corsair Network

Good Day Corsairs and Fellow Pirates,
The Buccaneer's Ball is now behind us and seemed to be a rollicking good time for all that attended. It was wonderful to finally meet many of you for the first time in person. I saw that several Pirates had their images put to paper by Tiger Lee in all their finery. The raffle and auction sent many pirates home with new treasure and booty to drool over.Tom Tuerff and Gary Siler entertained us with their music throughout the evening and had quite a few pirates dancing. Now it's time for you to give us your opinion of how things went and how we can make it better next year. First of all was the Ball too long? Seemed to me me many left long before Ball was scheduled to be over. Is 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM too much time to spend with other? Should we make it shorter next year? How about the food ? Was it satisfying and filling ? Was the entertainment up to your expectations? Any suggestions to make that better for your pleasure? Please make any suggestions and feedback you make realistic and reasonable, we seriously want to make it a better more pleasurable experience for you. No we can't run a brothel or provide all the alcohol you need free for such a measly amount, but any thing we can add or do without to improve will be considered. Remember this is your Ball to enjoy and we want to make it the best memories we can for you. For those of you who wish to become actual members of the Corsairs or form your own ship and be recognized as a official Corsair Ship please read the Arizona Corsairs Code and Articles section of our website and contact us. THANK YOU ALL for attending and hopefully we enticed you enough to want to do it again next year. Keep coming to the website to see what event we plan for our Pirate community next and be prepared to have more fun than one should be allowed to have in one lifetime. Argggh memories be the best treasures that one can gather in life.

It might be just me, but I think most winter parties and festivities traditionally start at 6pm because thats when it starts getting dark. ;) ....plus most people are off work by then and would does like to go to a social gathering with booze right after work?!? I know I sure do. ;)

I don't know ... my sweetie doesn't even get off work until 6 pm, and I like to decpmpress a bit after work before I start socializing. Oh well; I guess it's just "fashionably late" for me!!! ;-)

Hi AZ, fyi, in the past here in Los Angeles, some local pirates have found the first weekend in January to be a good time to throw a Twelfth Night Party, which coincides with another good reason to party, the Spanish Southwest Feast of the Three Kings, Dia de los Tres Reyes Magos. You can also tie into Columbus' Three Ships which started the discovery (carol: "I saw three ships come sailing in on Christmas Day..."), and voila, ships for pirates! If some people can make late afternoon, you could practice some dancing as well as sword work, then potluck & toasts and gambling practice or a nautical film. You could plot your group trip to the AZ Ren Faire to show off, and inspiret them so they let you have an encampment there! Mlle.
