Reasons why we like/dislike Jack Sparrow.

I'm curious, who here has reason to like/dislike Jack Sparrow.

First comment. That so-called Captain couldn't even keep hold of his ship.

He also couldn't seem to figure that if you wanted a good suply of rum, you should stock up when you reach port.

Point 1:No captain loses his ship three times.
Point 2:No captain gets stuck on an island with the Govenor's daughter,and then passes out.
Point 3:He sucked up to his worsed enemy.Twice.
Point 4:Barbossa is a WAY better captain.
Point 5:He couldn't even atract a dog.
Point 6:He doesn't even have a flag.
Point 7:He fell for sharing the map with the crew.
Point 8:His crew marooned him(twice),killed him,and he still helped them.
Point 9:He had a monkey named after him.Not a ship,not a town,a monkey.
And lastly.
Point 10:Captain Barthalemew Roberts"Black Bart" was a far more successful and real pirate.

In the interest of accuracy, Jack Sparrow does have a flag, at least by the end of AWE. It is a bastardization of Henry Avery's flag (profile of skull with headband), with Jack's bead danglies added tothe headband, a red swallow (it's not a sparrow) in the upper RH corner, and a purple something on the other side (can't remember what it is).

I agree -- Barbossa is a much better captain.

If I remember correctly I think you see it at the end of At World's End when he's sailing off to the fountain of youth in his dhingy with the rest of the map that he stole from his "crew".

Yes, Sir John is right - you see Cap'n Jack's banner on his dinghy at the very end of AWE.

Yes I do but a lot of people say no the set it up for a 4 one though.

I think that They left AWE open for a fourth movie, and that Disney made about a skajillion doubloons off POTC, so it's just a matter of time before they try to milk that cash cow for a little more. ;)

actually it is Captain Bartho Roberts as read in several history books including one I got from my college course at Phoenix College....and yes he was a better pirate!
