The Arizona Corsair Network

We're discussing a Xmas party, but, instead, how about Our own Corsair's/Pirate New Years' Eve Party?
We can avoid the 'presents' questions/problems, not worry about family obligations, and just throw a blast that 'out of towners' could possibly make, whereas around Xmas is problematic for them.
We can check with Taverns, Local Social events, get a cheap hall, or use someone's yard..I don't think there's a noise restriction THAT night, and it's EXPECTED to run late an get rowdy!
The Captain's are behind this idea, but we want Crew input as to WHERE we can hold this.
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!

Ah, it's a bit too.....they want 750. for the hall, 250. deposit, and we gotta " hire our own security".

The problem with Hotels is PORTAGE..they want you to buy Their Liquor, not bring yer own!

Well since it's just supposed to be a party, I did offer my place. You know you can bring drink and we have a bar here. The only draw back is the staying part... we have some extra space for crash space, but not enough like a hotel. I can say that there are several hotels surrounding the area that can be reached via taxi really quickly.

Again I offer my home. We can discuss this further at the Captains meeting.

ah. so ye've discussed it with the Wife?
If Ya have a secure area, we could still do the "babysitting" room thing?
I kin put up me dome tent in the yard, an we kin suggest that to others.
I'll even voulenteer fer clean-up duty the next morning!

That works, I think we could turn the Project room into a sitter’s center, but I'm hesitant to do so since we'll still have the kids in the same vicinity as the drinking parents. There would be too much of a temptation for either the parents or child to intermingle during the festivities.

We’ll have to put some more thought into this I suppose.

I do like the idea of turning the back yard into a possible campsite. We have a fire pit or two and space enough for a couple of tents and Pavilions. I may even set up my own.

La quinta is always nice, had my college grad party at the one in Flagstaff a few years ago, they had not problem with us bringing in our own celebratory rations there, nor for the other party the followin' night. I think my home be a bit far north for some folks, but my brother and I don't mind entertaining occasionally. Of course, a more centralized location be better for those from the south and the east. Anyway, I look forward to attendin' as soon as a date and place be set.

Where do ye be located an do ya need fire wood? I have some old whiskey barrels that the bands broke on and some mesquite.

I'm roughly in the Metro Center Corridor, 35th Ave & Peoria.

I do believe for this we would be happy to get firewood. I have a very limited amount here.
I'm certain that the Capt. Council will come to a consensus this weekend.
