Another Arizona Corsair Pool and Poker Party

I think everyone can agree that Barbarossa's last party was a success.

need thoughts on what was good and bad at the last party and need ideas to improve on its winning strategy.

Two thing I want to see at this party. Poker starting at 7 pm sharp with better prizes and no Captain's Meeting.

I would also like to see a charity action for future Corsair events.

I agree in that poker needs to start a 7pm sharp. I would like to see two table of poker...or if anyone is interested one poker table and one Blackjack table. And how about the idea of getting a party sub from subway.

Please not wrong way (subway) subs, I bet a better sub place can be found around that area. Ask Barbarossa. If so all attendees should pitch in to purchase it to make fair to our hosts. One way to improve poker game is to make it dealer's choice. And do you mean auction in that charity action statement. If so an auction would probably be better at a public event, like maybe at Copper Con during party.

I'm also good with the "no Capt meeting thing" ... in just the two parties I've been to, that's been the one thing that's brought the whole party to a screeching halt. Not that the Captains shouldn't meet - just maybe not EVERY time!

Maybe make it a potluck? I don't bring food if not invited, not wanting to insult the host/ess' spread. I wouldn't suggest it be mandatory, or formal where people sign up for stuff to bring ... just say "potluck" and see what shows up!

Seemed to me like the party went on good and loud around us as we tried to hold the Captain's meeting, no screeching halt . Not that I want to hold the meeting while partying but getting the Captains all together at one time seems to be impossible so when we actually have a majority we try to take care of the business part of our responsibilities , like planning activities for the group to keep it interesting to be a Corsair. The next meeting is planned for Saturday August 4th( a week before the party), hopefully somewhere centrally located so no one has to travel too far but at my place if nowhere else can be found. If all the Captains can make it to that one we won't have to leave our crews to party by themselves when we gather to enjoy each other's company, after all we want to have as much fun as anyone if not more since we're Captains and should lead by example, Arrrrrgh.

Hello and salutations scalawags I had a Grand time at Barbarossa's Party It was fun and lively...I believe the Poker game should start no later than an Hour after the time stated...or you can join in up till an hour later. I aslo Liked the Captains meeting with the crew Living it up in the background. That was envigorating and fun...If it gets to loud or ??? in the future we can just move to a quiter part of the party. We are the Captains after all!!!..Thank you Barbarossa for a really good time and Being a Grand Host..ohhh and a pinch to your fine lass too for putting up with us ;)

No-one is actually "calling" the meeting- we just wanna have them more regularly than we did in the bad ol' days-the agenda is usually set forth by Lyle, he is the current Moderator, as was voted by at previous meeting, as was Gato voted Treasurer, an I foget who became Secretary, I think Lyle's lady. If You gots ideas to bring up, foward them to him to schedual.
