Times are tight and ticket sales are low. With the Date of Aldea 11/13 approaching ever closer and the regretable slump of the economy, I have some solutions.
Why not go get other people's money? Sounds Good to me.
Below are a series of fundraising ideas all Corsairs may participate in to raise money.
If we raise enough money from outside sources we will have better flexibility on ticket prices and have a great event for all Corsairs to enjoy.
A Corsairs Car wash. I tried to schedule this one before but time/date conflicts prevented it from being a reality. I would like to have a car wash held by Arizona Corsair members to raise money to cover the cost of our year end event.
We had NO problem picking a time and date for our car wash. Getting our crews out to do the work was also no problem. In fact, we're having another one next week. If you need help putting one together, let us know! We're always willing to do our part.
We can solicit to local businesses to be our sponsor, in cash, food or goods. Some places may simply offer a gift certificate, deep discount, or items which can be traded, auctioned, or flat old sold. What do we bring to the table - they are noted on our site at the sponsor of the Arizona Corsairs and St. Jude.
This can be done at the local mall in the A/C with the mall's permission. Garbed Corsair members would troll the mall and ask customers if they would like a picture with a pirate for donation. They can either take the pic with their camera or provide an email address to which we will send it to.
I have called the malls and Tempe said no Flat out. The Westcor Malls want $500 and a $1Mil insurance policy in order to have us there.
I am leaning more towards trying to get an apartment complex, restraunt, or pub to allow us to set up. Also I have given this a bit more thought and we could actually rent a lap top and printer to give people actual photos if that angle works better.
Gather all ye junk (doesn't have to be pirate related) and sell it off! Nothing is price tagged because everything must go. The sneak - set up a table with sodas, cup cakes, cookies, and waters.
The 99 cent store sells 4packs of Shasta for .79 thats about 20 cents a can sold at 75 cents makes half a buck per can peddled. Basically you make your money back twice.
Cake mix and frosting can easily be found $3 for the pairing making 24 cup cakes. A cost of 13 cents each....sold for 50 cents makes a profit of 37 cents!
