Times are tight and ticket sales are low. With the Date of Aldea 11/13 approaching ever closer and the regretable slump of the economy, I have some solutions.
Why not go get other people's money? Sounds Good to me.
Below are a series of fundraising ideas all Corsairs may participate in to raise money.
If we raise enough money from outside sources we will have better flexibility on ticket prices and have a great event for all Corsairs to enjoy.
Similiar, yes but really to sell of stuff anyone would rather donate to Goodwill. I do not want to deal with the hassle of someone's grandma's china or the like.
He and we brought anything that could be donated to Good Will. Grandma's china would go on Amazon! Thing was, there was no other interest shown by the Corsairs. All were invited to participate, with funds being divied up between Lyle and the group, but few showed up. Great ideas only work if people are willing to DO the work.
I had another fundraising idea for Aldea TLAP and Kids Fair...
Whilst looking for a new domicile recently I noted that some apartment complexes advertise "get togethers" for their tennants on a regular basis. This got me thinking that we AS CORSAIRS could solicit to the apartment management to do a "Have your picture taken with a pirate" day. We could promote our event(s) and perhaps make some coin.
The possibilities are endless - this could be done at coffee shops, book stores, and maybe even the library. Please see below - and give your thoughts.
Scenerio #1 - At no cost to the apartment complex and a minor fee to the tenant. (I spoke to a girl at a complex near West Gate - she went strait to the budget so this may be our best angle.)
Scenerio #2 - Charge the complex a nominal fee and allow random folks to come in with their own digital cameras. We could provide goodie bags to the children perhaps for free depending on what we charge the complex.
Scenerio #3 - Trade our "services" for a Gift Card and promo ability at the old coffee house ect. Gift Card is raffled off to the customers.

Just in case you folks didn't know, you have some competition that weekend, which is probably part of your ticket selling problem. TusCon Sci-fi convention is that same weekend, and many of the cosplayers/geeks/whatevers will be attending that event instead.
