Well like I was saying before, I am thinking about making them and selling them. But I don't know how in demand they actually are? It will take some financal investment on my part, both with materials, permits, and booths at events which I have never done before. I don't know whats involved with that either. So before I start gathering materials and such,I am taking a pole............What do you guys and gals think? Because shipping these could be more than sending a letter...(lol).

I don't know? I saw a cast iron cannon for sale at a local store. About 2' with a 6" dia. barrel for $850 came with a wrought iron frame/truck. Said it was fireable No cannon balls included. So what size and price do you have in mind and can they be fired? I think it would be cool to have one hooked up to a fogger. But that's just me.

Yes they can be fired. They are functional potato cannons. So every super market has bags of amunition.LOL Depending on if I make them with an air chamber. (making it a pneumatic cannon) If it's made with a combustion chamber it actually fires with a bang. I make them out of PVC , styrofoam , and wood. NOT cast iron.

Personaly, I think they are cool, and would love one for calling the crew to dinner LOL.. but, that said, my advice is to rethink the selling them aspect... you can avoid possible huge legal action and red tape by simply selling detailed instructions to ppl on how to build them on their own. Similar to the old woodworking patterns my pops used to buy. Just an idea. For selling them at events in a booth, yeah, I can see that... and will use my contacts in the SCA to see if it's viable at SCA sanctioned events if you'd like. Also, I would suggest using ebay to sell them.

I plan on selling them with warnning lables on them , and a release of liability for me that must be signed before delivery or pickup. I thaught about issues like legal or miss use and or accidents.
