Non pirate pics

Its probably just me, but, i would love to see the pics being uploaded to the site keep to the pirate theme. After all this is a pirate themed site.
Yes i want to see pics of your newborn, big life change stuff, i'm not heartless.
BUT...A close up shot of your bed head, cam whore myspace shots, yes thats a pretty fairy, yay you put a red band on your face, yay you can use photo shop to mirror image yourself or any other trick, you are not sephiroth, yes cats are cute only with an eye patch, ghost rider's bike is cool..in the movie, my thats alot of motorcycle pics, i hope pirates didn't play trombones, etc...i know i missed some... is not needed.
There are over 5200 pics uploaded to the site and i know space costs money.
If we could police ourselves, look through our pictures and get rid of the non pirate themed ones, make room for the pirate themed ones.
And since that pic viewer is right up front showcasing us, maybe we should put our best peg leg forward and show the newcomers to the site what they are in for.

I just went thru my page, Granted I have a few pics from the various Ren fairs we have attended, if they are not considered piratecal in nature I would be more than willin to take them down, I agree with MadBlaze that we need to keep this strictly For Pirates and Pirate themed photos. If you want to show your kids, or grand kids, Post a note Show a pic for a week then take it down, I have no problem sitting here for how ever long it takes to delete Non Pirate Pics, with Extreme Prejudice >:)

I too have spent some time cleaning up the images I had posted... I concur that we be think'n only piratical pictures!

if Capt Blackheart would be able to make it so I could delete a LOT of photos at one I would be happy to so that would free up some space.

Gentlemen, we seem to be in agreement that pirate pictures are the more acceptable on this site. Unfortunately, those of us who have spent the time and policed our images are not the worst offenders. Captain talk with your crew, look into their images too. Leave comments on their pages to delete duplicate or non-pirate images. As captains we are responsible for not only our personal actions but for those who we claim to follow us as well.

Jack, Renfaire images are more than acceptable, IMO. You were in pirate costume at this event and you went as a AZ Corsair.

I took down perhaps half of mine that I thought were non-essential, even though they were at Ren Faire. Hope others follow suit.

I would think Ren Fair pics are ok, assuming you're in costume.

I went through my Pics. and removed non-Pirate pics.Yes this is a Pirate site, But it can't be helped when you put non-Pirate pics on your own page and they show up on the main page album. It happens automatically ,but once enough pics are uploaded they are no longer visible to anyone unless you go on there page.

That is a very good point. Those that would like to upload non-pirate/ personal images can also do so if the images are made private or friends only. This offers the best of both worlds. Also, please remember, there are over 400 people on this site. There are millions more on the internet. What do you really want people, most of whom you don't know, to know about you?

The thing for some of us though is that there are different kinds of Pirates.Yes I am a land pirate as well. A biker is the last real pirate left. But keeping totally with the posed question of pirate pics. What about profile pics ?

I agree, this may be a social networking site, but it is one with a theme. On "me page" couldn't someone post links to other sites of photos if they were so inclined? Or is it that hard to pirate it up a bit if you're going to camwhore in front of a mirror? Seriously, there are reasons I never log into myspace, don't bring it here.

And a week after the start of this discussion, 5 of the first 6 pics in the viewer are "myspace camwhore shots". I must thank that young lady for them, and with keeping with the theme.
