What an event!
The Venue was SUPERB! Thanks to our hosts the Everhart Clan and to Cap'n Redcap for introducing us!
The 4 course Feast DESERVED the name the roasted pork loin was was slow cooked to "fork cut", with a excellent gravy ( which got high marks from Lynn Everhart ) the glazed carrots were berry sweet, and potatoes savory, and the Bread pudding was EXCELLENT ( Thanks Lauralei!) with both the strawberry sauce and Rum sauces bringing people back for seconds ( and sometimes thirds!).
The Tourney went off smoothly, drawing fencers form outside the Corsairs, including a visit from Lord Sir Kheldar HIMSELF, from the Empire of Chivalry and Steel. Newcomers were invited to fence and SHOCKINGLY won their first two BOUTS! Congratulations to Shawn and Andy!
The Purse of Gold, after adding up the list was FIFTY DOLLARS, in American Gold coins!
Congratulations to the Tournament Champion ( decency and humility forbid me to name the Winner)
Suffice to say that the fencing was of high caliber.
We made such a favorable impression that we have been invited back! So the Pirate Feast now has a home!
What with fine food, fencing and Drink, everyone had a grand time!
See you all there next year!
Captain Blackstrap,
You are most welcome, it was a pleasure and an honor to represent The Dread Fleet! Thank you for you kind words, and congratulations. Lord Sir Kheldar, is an expert swordsman and the fight could have gone either way.

Permalink Reply by Lynn Everhart on October 18, 2011 at 11:43pm The Everharts (all 8 of us!) had a great time and look forward to next year. The food was indeed superlative! The fencing and conversation was fast and entertaining. Captain Red Cap's well choreographed wit and sword fight with equally stylish partner was a delight. My grandson and friends have been practicing the dreaded pirate slam move, over and over. So far, no broken bones..... but we did suggest he not show his friends on the play ground! We were amazed at the quick set up.... cool pirate decor, and fast get-away, leaving everything spotless. The pirates moved so quickly and were so well organized that they got in, feasted, drank, fought, cavorted with belly dancers...... and left so quietly, our neighbors are still flummoxed!
M'Lady!
We are indeed in your debt, and thank you for your kind words! Indeed, we will Feed and Entertain you again next year, our Pleasure and Honor ( such honor as we have!)

You're quite welcome, Dagny, and thank you for the kind words!
It was indeed a pleasure meeting you and talking costumes and such. I shall look forward to the day our paths cross again!
