Back in 1988 a good friend invited me to go on a three-hour cruise, off the shores of California. But our ship was boarded by pirates. And I was kidnapped by pirates. One of the pirates I met on that cruise was Cap'n Michael. He was fresh to California from the sands of Phoenix, having been one of the early captains of the Corsairs. A year later we were handfasted on that same pirate ship, and officially married a month later. Been running with pirates ever since.

Being here on the shores of the Pacific, we don't get to see you lads and lasses as much as we'd like. Some of you have been coming out to California for events, especially L.O.R.E. (pirate workshops held in Corona, in March & October). We hope to get out to AZ more (but the price of gas is not helping ... note to self: need to plunder one of those galleons from Exxon).

Before joining up with the pirates, I came out to AZ several times for Leprecon. Used to show my art in the art show there. And I do remember coming to some Pirate Parties hosted by the Corsairs. In comparing notes with my cap'n, I learned I came to one of the parties that was celebratin' his birthday. But I don't remember if I met him then. I do remember meeting Roderick though.
