The city of Portland and the 2009 Portland Pirate Festival made their way into the Guinness Book of World Records today, 9/20/2009, for the “Most Pirates in One Place”, with an official count of 1,651. Those numbers topped the previous world record holders of Brixham, England, who numbered a mere 1,469 back in May.

In a move that we predicted more than a year ago, Disney executives announced yesterday that the fourth installment of the Pirates saga has been put into development. If the project finally makes its way into production, count on seeing Johnny Depp return as Captain Jack. At this time, the return of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley remains unconfirmed.
