FiestaCon (Westercon 62)

The Arizona Corsairs will be at this years Westercon, holding many pirate panels and events including a Corsair Party Saturday Night (more details to come)

FiestaCon will be the 62nd annual Westercon, the Western regional science fiction and fantasy convention for North America. Programming will feature many local and regional authors, artists, and scientists. We will have a Masquerade, Art show & Auction, Charity Auction, Writing Workshops, Dealers Room, Gaming, and more. Join us at the Tempe Mission Palms in downtown Tempe, Arizona, where there is a variety of nearby restaurants, with easy access to the Phoenix Light Rail and a great view of the Tempe July 4th Fireworks!

COS – PIRATE COSTUMING FROM THOSE IN THE KNOW’N. As ye could really be put in shackles fer confiscating yer wares; we have some simple yet useful tips on ta look'n yer best scurvy, wench swipe'n, rum guzll'n cut-throat selves. Thar will be ways of construct'n yer own clothes out of existing things found maybe in yer attic or some thrift store finds. It’s like going on a treasure hunt and know’n what ta look fer. And ye would be amazed at what accessories ya can find in yer old granny’s closet that would work just great. So come and join us fer a grand time of dress up.

KID – SEARCH FER BLACK BART’S TREASURE. (Ages 4-8) Bart has buried his treasure on this Isle of the Palms… Yer mission is ta find his treasure and avoid the scurvy dogs that are after it fer thar own. Come join us for what is sure to be a magical adventure of pirates and savages. But beware and make use of yer flint and sword!

There is something for everyone, from the novice to even the seasoned designer.

SOC – PIRATES & GYPSIES OPEN DRUM & DANCE ROMP. This will be an open drum and dance jam session hosted by the AZ Corsairs with gypsies they found about their travels. Come join in the drumming if ya feel the rhythm or move your hips to the beat. Even if you’re just a belly-dancer groupie, you’re most welcome to cheer them on. It’s a wonderful way to cap off a great night at the Con!

The pirate party at Westercon is open to everyone free whether you are attending the con or not. So come to the Corsair's party Saturday night.

Pirates and Victorian/steampunk, AWESOME! The Blacklight Bastard's art will be in the art show at FiestaCon, and we'll be having an artist reception either Fri or Sun evening.

I will so be there...In my "other life" I am an Old West Historian and will be speaking at the event!!!

I will be speaking on the similarities of Victorian Makeup and Hair and how it compares to the Steampunk of today!!! I wanna come to the party but no pirate garb!
